Share stats with photo VS privacy

Hi,
Why sharing option (new "share with photo") requires to change privace of activity to Everyone? I don't want to change privace. I just want to have a photo with few digits from my training. Don't want to share all the details including map with the world.
Really... who designed it. :/

Glad to see I'm not the only one who thought the exact same thing.

Yeah it's a bit ridiculous. All I would want is to add a photo that then gets synced to Strava and is visible by my 10 friends. I don't need for it to be completely public....
I guess I'll keep adding it manually to Strava direct, but it makes the photo functionality of the GC app itself pretty pointless, imo.
