Functional Threshold Power (FTP) not in App

FTP is being calculated and displayed in my Garmin Edge 520.

However, it is not showing up in the IOS Garmin Connect app. There is an page in the app under Performance Stats called FTP but when going into that page it says "No data available".

I am using a power meter on the bike (but not Vector). I also use a Garmin 235 (which can not calculate FTP) but it is not used in Activity mode when on the bike (I use the Edge).

All other metrics (including VO2 Max) seem to transfer from the Edge 520 properly. Anyone know what's wrong?
  • I’m having the exact same problem, I’ve sent an email to the support centre and will let you know if I get any resolution, but would love to hear if anyone else has any luck!

Can anyone at least confirm whether or not this is normal behaviour. Like others above I can not find any way to enter my current FTP into the Mobile Connect app on iPhone. The relevant screen just says "no data available" despite that data being in both my 520 and my online Garmin Connect account. Thanks.
  • I see the same issue. No data available for FTP but get stats for VO2. Anyone else have this working (1000 head unit)

Edge 520. I've had my FTP and VO2 stop recording. FTP estimates never calculate and not syncing with GC. Im constantly freezing up on start up with the unit and after a hard reset on the unit, disconnecting and reconnecting apps and links and deleting and reinstalling GC on the iPhone multiple times there is still no solution. Not only is the My Day arrangement no longer saving the layout you choose to edit and retaining those settings but even the My Fitness Pal active calorie link has been lost and information isn't transferring between apps / devices like it did before all of this drama. I'm quite sick of it, have been trawling through posts and internet searching dating back to 2015 regarding these issues and no one has had a solution provided to them. Some people got resolution around early 2016 with resetting their units and deleting/reinstalling their apps but for me this has just made things worse. The few things that did work/sync no longer do so. Most forum posts/threads here have had no love from Garmin, no responses at all. I'm quite mugged off that we get half a product sold to us for an exorbitant price and then used as community beta testers. I would expect that paying a premium price for a product would warrant reliability and stability. On the verge of giving up on Garmin products completely and looking at the market for better supported and more reliable components and software.
    Up your game, Garmin.
  • There are multiple threads on this exact subject. Garmin has been aware of the issue for a year now and has done nothing.

New FTP value on Edge 820, but no sync with the value on the Garmin Connect Report Dashboard on my PC.
  • are there any new on the problems, that FTP is not showing up and/or calculated? on my bike rides i get VO2 max results, but no FTP (only after my very first ride out of 8) and no lactate threshold.

when i bought the fenix some weeks ago, i thought i would buy a "some kind of professional product" but i am thinking of returning it.
so many things do not work as expected (polar BT heart rate straps are not connecting (H7), garmin cardance sensors drop connection or take ages to connect, iphone loses connection if about 5 meters away) and a lot of sketchy random values are shown for HR, floors climbed, stress, sleep and compass. even if FTP would be shown/calculated, how would i know that this is not just another random value?

New FTP value on Edge 820, but no sync with the value on the Garmin Connect
  • I'll join the crowd. Garmin connect is showing my FTP from last year, but hasn't updated the value since, despite the fact that I replaced my power meter (old one registered MUCH too high). VO2 Max values are updated every ride, but no adjustments on FTP despite plenty of good 5-45 minute efforts it could pull an FTP from.
  • After sent a email to garmin support, they told me that the problems are in the powermeters, because in Garmin powermeter, there are no problems. So stupid....
