Garmin Connect Not Showing As Source In Apple Health

Hi, I have searched around a bit and this seems to be a fairly common issue, but I can't find a solution...

When I go to Sources in Apple Health, Garmin Connect isn't listed there. I've tried restarting both apps and making sure Connect is running when I launch Health, but it's not in there. Am I doing something wrong?

I am considering buying a Fenix soon, but if I won't be able to sync to Apple Health then I would consider getting an Apple Watch instead...
  • I have the Forerunner 620. Is the issue here that only certain devices are compatible with Apple Health?
I can't see Garmin Connect as a source, but there is also nothing in the application that allows you to enable sharing with Apple so I wondered if it was triggered by the device.
I have tried to uninstall Connect, change privacy settings etc...

    Flynny100,

I was wondering the same thing. I have a FR620 and Garmin Connect does not show up as a source on Apple Health; however, my friends who have either the 630 or 935 do not have issues having GC show up as a source in Apple Health.

Does anyone else on this forum have similar experience using the FR620?

That’s exactly it. It doesn’t work with my Fenix 2 on iPhone 6s, and don’t recall it working on my last iPhone either.

It works fine on my wife’s new Vivosport and iPhone7.

I’ve just paired her Vivosport to my iPhone/Garmin App and Apple Health opened up during the setup process.

Now I’ve unpaired her Vivosport from my Garmin account - it still shows - just need to watch and see if the info updates from Garmin app.

hopefully I’ve got a workaround, but in any case I believe it is down to only specific Garmin devices trigger the Apple Health app. Maybe Garmin devices marketed as “Activity Trackers” rather than dedicated running or cycling computers.

Update: Just gone a short walk and tested it and Apple Health updated that i’d gone a walk, however the Garmin App hasn’t read my weight from the Health app.

also notice that walking & running is duplicated in the workout section. Maybe the app lists total time for each activity type regardless if it’s listed under something else.

Edge 1000 cycling computer does not trigger Garmin a connect app to appear in Apple Health. I’m getting an Apple Watch soon and wanted my cycling data to sync into Apple Health.

I'm afraid to say that change the Privicy to "Everyone" didn't work for me. I have already deleted and reinstalled the GC and nothing changed. Any other ideia??

Same here. I have a Edge 1000 cycling computer. Is it only the activity watches that get detetected?
  • Same here, worked two days ago, but not now. Re-installed. Tried the privacy-thing, but no go.
  • Experiencing the same issue using my iPhone 6 (Latest iOS and latest Garmin Connect version).
Thought it was just my device so I then tried it on my work iPhone 6 Plus, still the same issue.
I then tried it on my older iPhone 5, and I still couldn't get Garmin Connect to appear in the Health App as a source.

So on my 3 separate iPhones I couldn't get it to show up as a source which is shocking on Garmin behalf.

Note: However, on my girlfriends iPhone 7 it worked and showed up.
  • I found the solution after excessive testing.

Delete the app and then re-download it.
Instead of signing-in, you must create a new account. Skip the setting up a device etc. it will then take you to a screen that asks what you want to mainly use the app for, choose only the ‘Health’ option.

The health app then immediately pops up and links to your Apple Health.

Sign-out of the new account and sign back into your old account :)

it has since stayed linked and everything is working.
