Garmin Connect Not Showing As Source In Apple Health

Hi, I have searched around a bit and this seems to be a fairly common issue, but I can't find a solution...

When I go to Sources in Apple Health, Garmin Connect isn't listed there. I've tried restarting both apps and making sure Connect is running when I launch Health, but it's not in there. Am I doing something wrong?

I am considering buying a Fenix soon, but if I won't be able to sync to Apple Health then I would consider getting an Apple Watch instead...
  • I'm also running IOS11 beta and now GC Beta. Unfortunately for me the trick didn't work... Still GC is not showing up in the Health App as source...

I was able to replicate the functionality of mbnorrie's workaround multiple times. In the GC app, click on More / Settings / Profile & Privacy and then click on Who can see my profile. Change it from whatever its set for to any other status and then Save and the Apple Health screen pops up automatically. iOS 11 Public Beta 4 and GC with Beta Access enabled.
  • that's great... but for me - unfortunately - it doesn't work. It tried it again... and again...and again... but to no avail.

New version 3.22.0.17 GC for iOS still doesn't work .......
  • Neither for me (on IOS11), but at least live-tracking is working again

Here is a solution / one that worked for me

I had Connect syncing with Apple Health but did a restore from factory settings on my 7+ to iOS 10.3.2
Installed Connect, not showing as a source in Health.

i played around with privacy settings in Connect. As soon as I changed

    Who can view my profile

    from

    Only me

    to

    Everyone

Health automatically opened with source settings for all Connect categories

note i changed the other 2 privacy settings before Profile, I am assuming it was the Profile setting that triggered Health since it opened immediately after changing it.
Guessing that I could now change privacy settings back to me and sync would still work now that it?s a source in Health but have not tested

(goofy formatting above, got sync working but not quotation marks in this comment)

    Worked for me also Thanks!

Yep that worked for me. But who is everybody?
  • Thanks mbnorrie, your solution works!
Just go into profiles privacy settings and switch "who can view my profile" to another setting. Go back (and save) and Health pops up automaticly where you can activate write and read access for connect

    This worked for me. Thanks!
