Why doesn't GC write to HealthKit till the end of the day?

I've used Garmin devices long enough to not expect this to be fixed anytime soon, but can anyone shed any light as to why GC doesn't write data to HealthKit, in this case steps, till 23:59 or some such. MyFitnessPal updates through the day, so it's obviously possible. So can only assume it's by design. But I can't see to what end.
  • Just out of interest, how do we know that it's GARMIN not sending to Healthkit until the end of the day. Might it be that Healthkit is not updating until the end of the day?

    Consider also that health kit might be waiting until the end of the day to do any analysis in the event of duplication or even triplication of data as a result if input from a number of devices or sources.
  • For me:

    - Jawbone
    - Withings
    - internal iPhone setp counter

    all update intraday. So yeah, it might be Apple but I'd say it is probably Garmin's fault.

    Apple Health app will update as soon as there is data sent to it. Garmin's HealthKit integration has never worked properly. Case in point, when a workout is added to HealthKit, it will report incorrect calories. If I burn 400 calories in Garmin Connect, Garmin Mobile will write .4 to HealthKit. This has been a bug for the longest time.

    Same Issues Here

    Issues coming from the Garmin App. It has always worked when I was using Runtastic Apps (Runtastic, Me). I bought a Garmin wearable device since I didn't have hair :mad:

    According to the Apple Health Sources, Garmin App is supposed to write :
    Sleep -> Ok Beginning of the day
    Distance -> OK during the Day but deleted from Apple Health the day after
    Rest Energy -> OK during the Day but deleted from Apple Health the day after :confused:
    Activity Energy -> OK during the Day but deleted from Apple Health the day after :confused:
    Mounted stairs -> iPhone Data, there is no altimeter on the FR235
    Exercices -> OK Once Activity completed
    BMI -> No data ??
    Fat Mass Index -> No data :confused:
    Number of steps -> OK but only End of the day ??
    Weight -> OK
    heartbeat -> OK End of the day

    I tried to download a lot apps with possibility to login in Garmin connect but none of them can sync all these information.
    It's very frustrated...

    Oh and for sure, I correctly manage the priority of the sources app allowed to write data in the Apple Health application

    It's quite obvious that the issue is with Garmin's app and when/how it pushes data.

    These apps all work flawlessly/instantly with Healthkit:
    MyWeight
    MyFitnessPal
    Strava
    Bodyspace

    they also pass data between themselves instantly. Connect does not do this. If you read around on the topic it becomes clear that the issue is with Connect.
