New 235, not connecting properly to aything

Hi,

Just for a new forerunner 235 w/4.2.

Tried pairing with GC mobile iOS app: Foreruner 235 found, but "Pairing failed, This device does not have a valid uni tID"

Garmin Express on Windows 10: Forerunner 235 found, but "we're unable to add this device because our servers are unavailable at this time".

Garmin Express on MacOS Sierra: Forerunner 235 found, but "This device is not compatible with Express".

I've reset to factory settings already and loaded each app fresh.

I've updated to 4.3 now, and let it reset (I've no idea if it did this through mac, PC, or phone...)

Strangely, a few iPhone notifications managed to get through....

Bit of an awful experience so far after coming from an Apple Watch. Are servers down?
