Can't connect Forerunner 230 with MFP

I have seen many discussions on this topic, and have tried the remedy options...but I still can't get the Garmin Connect to send my activity/calorics data to MFP. Here is the most recent MFP desk remedy that I tried to follow:

I cannot seem to "get" or "add" Garmin to MFP as a Connected App. I have tried in the iPhone App and the websites. I am always re-directed to the Garmin Connect website, I log in, and then nothing happens. My Garmin data is fine.

Once you have the two services connected in MyFitnessPal, you also need to log in to Garmin Connect, go to Calories In/Out and make sure the two services are connected there also.

Cannot get Garmin Connect and MFP to sync together

I have tried several different times to get the two programs to sync and nothing has been successful. Connect is the worst app I have ever worked with and I am looking into another fit tracker just to have a more user friendly app.
