Forerunner 235 not syncing data to Garmin Connect iOS

Hello all,

I bought a Forerunner 235 yesterday afternoon and have slept with it on and had it on for all of today.

I don't think my data is syncing to Garmin Connect properly - for example, in the My Day / Sleep Details view I have zero sleep data for today (and yesterday), in the My Day view I do have the correct number of steps recorded but in the Step Details view I have zero data for today (and yesterday), and in the All Day Heart Rate view I have zero data regardless of the time period selected. It does, however, appear my watch is capturing all this data (apart from sleep data, which I don't think I can check on the watch).

I've tried resetting to factory settings (at the start of today, so have new data that should be correctly transferred but issue persists), reinstalling the iOS app, synced the data multiple times etc but can't seem to get all my data across into my iOS app. As a result, I'm unsure whether this is a related to hardware fault, a software compatibility issue between Garmin Connnect and iOS 10.0.2 (14A456), or simply a matter of waiting a few days for a full day or two of data to be transferred across.

Does anyone know what this problem relates to and how to fix it?

Thanks!
Michael

    POTENTIALLY RESOLVED

Discovered that my time and date settings we strangely completely off what they should have been. Manually setting the time correctly did not fix the incorrect date, and as a result my data was being captured for a completely random date (although I still couldn't find the transferred data for the incorrect date in the connect app).

This was entirely resolved (so far...) by doing a fake 10 second or so dummy activity, which allows the GPS to automatically set the correct time and date. Note I had never logged an activity since I bought the watch yesterday which suggests this may be a necessary calibration step for all new watch purchasers. Hope this helps!

    Forerunner 235 not syncing

Remember that fix (starting a fake activity to get GPS started). I have now learned if my watch time is off, the watch has locked up even if steps are measured. All data is lost during the lock up period. The connection to the GPS does work to set correctly, but steps will only reflect from that point forward. I note this issue happening when Garmin updates the watch software.
