Double notifications on Garmin Vivoactive HR with iOS / Iphone 6s

Hello,
I have a Garmin Vivoactive HR connected with Iphone 6s, using the lastest version of Connect app.

When receiving email / sms etc., I receive a notification on the Vivoactive HR. I receive the same notification again when I unlock the Iphone.

So for every email, I get the notification twice - when the email arrives, and when I unlock the phone afterwards.

Anybody with the same experience? Can this be prevented?

I also have a VAHR and 6s, but never had this issue, maybe because I usually delete the VAHR notifications before I unlock the iPhone. But even, when I don't I only get one notification.

I have firmware 2.90 and iOS 9.3.5, btw.

PS: I checked my notification settings for Mail in iOS settings ... I only have Notification Center activated, not lock screen.
