Can someone please help me understand the benefits of syncing with other phone apps? I've synced with the Apple Health app, Argus, and synced both of those apps with Runkeeper (doesn't seem to be a direct sync between Garmin and Runkeeper). I can't really figure out exactly what is getting shared between the apps, and what the benefit is. Maybe someone who does it has some tips, maybe some setting I need to change to see it? Thanks!
The best example is the sync between Connect-Mobile an My Fitness Pal ... Connect = Activity and MFP = balanced diet. Connect syncs burned calories and MFP syncs eaten calories back.
Apple Health is great as a central databse, when using different devices, e.g. an Apple watch and a sleep tracker. But Connect syncs a lot of crap into Health ... totally buggy mess :( ... e.g. all bed time phases get synced as sleep phases, even when there are awake phases at night.
It all depends on what devices you use and what data analysis you want ... and if it really works as designed (see the Connect-Health bugs). Some app syncs are useful, others aren't. And all depends on what YOU find useful ;)
