Health App Source: Connect not available as option

I have MyFitnessPal, Strava and Withings as APPS/Sources in the Health app, however I can not see Connect as an option.

What am I doing wrong?

This might be a long shot.

Are there any registered device(s) in this app?

Can you create a manual activity or enter a weight?

Do you have a connect account? All data goes via the Garmin server.

It is possible that you need a device and data before it will request data to be send to Health app.

Yes I have a Garmin Edge 520 registered. That syncs with Connect fine, which then uploads to Strava, which adds the data to Health.

Yes I can add a manual activity. I can also add a weight, in fact the weight in Connect is up to date (although I can't tell where it's pulling this info from - could be the Health app or could be MyFitnessPal).

Yes I have a Connect account, and have tried looking at the web dashboard to see if it says anything different. But unsurprisingly it shows exactly the same as the app.

Yep, I did think that perhaps Connect only synced with Health if you have an activity tracker, but that would be a bit odd. Surely the data added by the Edge 520 should be able to be synced with Health...
  • Yes, I have the same issue. Connect is not an option as a source in the health app. Have the latest versions of iOS and connect installed. Would love to be able to get this working.

    I found a work-around!

I'm having the same issue, but I hacked a solution!

If connect your Garmin Connect <> Strava and then give Strava write access to your Health data, Strava will write activities into your Health app from your recorded Garmin data!

That is all fine and good, for recorded / logged activities (running, swimming, cycling, etc.), however, the Strava "workaround" is not going to handle sleep tracking, steps or heart rate data.
  • Same issue for me. App deleted and re-installed and absolutely no sign of Garmin Connect in the health app.....

Hi guys found this :"You will only be prompted to turn on the feature if you have a wellness device registered to your account. Current wellness devices are the vivofit, vivosmart, or Forerunner 920XT."
