Health App Source: Connect not available as option

I have MyFitnessPal, Strava and Withings as APPS/Sources in the Health app, however I can not see Connect as an option.

What am I doing wrong?
  • Same for me. GC not visible as health source. And yes - running IOS 10. GC latest version.
  • I'm also experiencing this issue. Running iOS 10.2 on 7+

Does Garmin monitor these forums to see/address issues like this?
  • Nope! If you want something done, you need to contact Garmin Support and log the problem there.

Have you contacted Apple too? Why do you think the problem is one of Garmin's making? There are two entities involved here.

As an aside, it works for me with iOS 10.2 on iPhone 6S -

Well, on my iPhone 6s with iOS 10.2 the sync works, but is a total mess, e.g. awake times get synched as sleep times. So Garmin is definitely not innocent overall ;)
  • Any updates on this? I have tried contacting Garmin Support, and so far they have been less than helpful.

Also, it makes no sense to say that it's a problem on Apple's side, as the other 4 apps that I use to source data for Apple Health (eg Strava and MyFitnessPal) all work fine. It must be an issue with how Garmin have implemented the connection to Apple Health. Apple aren't going to make changes to their Health app every time a third party app stops working with it, it's up to the third party to make sure their app works with Health.

    Connect to Apple health

    Perhaps check this

    In the garmin connect app
More —> Settings (below Garmin Devices)

    Line 4 —— 3rd Party Apps

    Select Apple Health

Thanks, yes I have done that, and I just get 3 screens, the first with the Connect and Health icons and some arrows in between, explaining that it can "automatically make your date available to your Apple Health app", and the third with a screenshot from the Apple Health sources page, saying "to change these settings, go to the Apple Health app and tap Sources".

There are no settings to change in these screens, and no toggles to enable or disable anything.

Let me know if yours looks any different and I'll see if I can upload some screenshots to compare.

  • These are the screenshots from the Garmin Connect app, and the Sources page in Apple Health.

    Settings Privacy Health

The screen shots are the same for me except that in the source "connect" is visible

Do you see in Settings Privacy Health "Connect" there
From there I can select the items that I allow connect to write or read.

Ok thanks for looking. No Connect is also not listed in iPhone Settings, Privacy, Health - it's the same list as in Sources in the Health app.

Definitely sounds like it's a bug in my Connect, then. Going to have to think again about which watch to get, syncing with the Health app is pretty much a deal breaker (and is what has put me off Fitbit).
