LiveTrack Issues

Since the latest Garmin Connect update on iOS, LiveTrack is now just about completely useless.

The beginning of the ride shows up and that's it.

Since this problem, I have:

1) Uninstalled Garmin Connect and re-installed it
2) Unpaired / Paired Edge 1000 to iPhone
3) Factory Reset on Edge 1000

Many people with Edge 1000s have the same problem. See Edge 1000 Forum (https://forums.garmin.com/showthread.php?354317-LiveTrack-Issues)

All components are on latest software/firmware.

Also, at the end of the ride, the autosync feature no longer works. In fact, stopping the iOS app and/or restarting the Edge 1000 fails to make it sync. I must power down the iPhone, restart it, then restart the Edge 1000 and Garmin Connect and I will get it to sync.

Furthermore, *IF* the iPhone goes through an area where there is no cell service, the iOS app never reconnects to the Garmin servers and the ride dies there...

They just updated GCM on the iPhone. Hopefully that'll do the trick. Rest day for me tomorrow so i'll have to wait until Saturday to give it a try.

    GCM live track worked.

:)Tried GCM live track yesterday (18:00, Eastern Standard) and it worked for my entire 20 mile ride. I am using Garmin 520, iOS 9.3.2 and GCM 3.8.0.20. (Is this the most current GCM version??). I didn't receive any update notices.

I hope it continues to function properly. I will not use it again until the weekend.

I updated to the latest GarminConnect and LiveTrack appears to be working now. I don't know if it is a result of the update to GC or if Garmin had LT turned off. Whatever... LiveTrack is back up and running now.

LiveTrack Tested after 7/13/2016 update to 3.8.0.20

Tested LiveTrack update today on 30 mi hop and it recorded the complete ride. I sent myself the link and checked the progress on my iPhone several times as I was riding. Very happy it is functional again. Thank you Garmin. I am also still receiving the Twitter notification. Oh well.
  • Ride tonight after upgrade all right!:D
  • I'm wondering if the bug was ever in Garmin Connect or if it was in their servers. Odd that they announce the Edge 820 with "GroupTrack" and then everything starts working.

I think they broke the service while implementing GroupTrack and then it miraculously started working again as the 820 is released with GroupTrack.

I am glad someone posted that. I was wondering if I was the only one getting the annoying "Your Twitter account has not yet been configured" (or something like that). I don't twitter and I don't have Twitter on my iPhone and yet I keep getting the blasted message AND I have the Twitter option DISABLED in Garmin Connect...

When I plugged my Edge 810 into the computer yesterday, Garmin Express said there was an update available. After running the update, the 810 wouldn't connect to my iPhone 5S. Tried a few things then ended up deleting the phone on the 810 and deleting the 810 from the phone. Then linked them again. On a 20 mile ride today, Live Track worked properly from beginning to end. I'll test it again on long rides both days this weekend. I do still get the annoying Twitter message, but if that is the worst I have to deal with, I'm happy!
