MFP/Garmin Connect - Calories Adjusted Goal query/issue?

I have a VivoActive HR and use iOS Garmin Connect. I have just started to use MyFitnessPal to log my calories being eaten. However I have a query/issue with how the Adjusted Goal works.

When I look at the Calories In/Out on iOS Garmin Connect it is taking my 'Calorie Goal' (1490 kcal) from MyFitnessPal correctly, however it is then adding on my 'Active Calories' (1741 kcal) to make an Adjusted Goal of 3231 kcal and hence a huge 'Remaining Calories' number. This isn't the behavior I want. I don't want my Active Calories being added to my Calorie Goal, but I can't find any settings to prevent this.

So:

Active Calories = 1741
Consumed Calories = 1634
Adjusted Goal: 1490 (MFP goal) + 1741 (Active Calories) = 3231
Calories Remaining: 3231 - 1634 = 1597

I would rather have Calories remaining = 1490 - 1634 = -144

How do other people handle this? I assume there must be a few people using MFP and Garmin Connect?
