Loggin a gym workout in connect.

Hey guys,
Hoping you can help.

My jawbone up went a bit crazy registering everything 3/4 times a day. (Apparently I sleep for 72 hours a night etc). So I got a garmin vivosmart. To keep tracking my weight training and weight loss linked with my fitness pal.

The issue I am having is that I can log my workouts in mfp no problem, and with the up, my calories earned by exercise steps etc would be added/subtracted no issue. The garmin has basically taken all calories earned through exercise and then some. Eg, in up I can walk 12k steps and receive a positive calorie adjustment, with this garmin, I got a negative 1000 calorie adjustment,

My solution would be to register the exercise in garmin connect but can't find a way to register the weight training, stationary bike etc.

Seems to be an expensive digital watch at the moment. Thanks in advance for your advice

  • Do this in a browser. (You don't need to use a PC or Mac; it worked on my iPad too.)

    • Go to Garmin Connect online.
    • Click on the ≡ icon at the top of the navigation panel on the far left.
    • Select Calendar from the drop-down menu.
    • Click on a day on the Calendar page in Garmin Connect.
    • Select Manual Activity from the drop-down menu.
    • Populate the relevant fields on the data entry form. (The Calories field will be populated automatically based on the Time entered and Activity Type selected, but you can overwrite that value; after you do so, the manually entered value will not be recalculated automatically even if you go back up and modify the values in the Time fields.)
    • Click on the Add to Calendar button.
