I have the same issue, but with vivoactive HR and edge 1000.
all my activities with edge have no intensity minutes.
but if I start an activity in edge and vivoactive I have 2 different ones which is as incorrect as having no intensity minutes.
can I vote in the feature request to have this implemented in edge?
thanks
I had submitted an "idea" to have this feature implemented in edge 1000 as well.
it kind of makes no sense that edge does not calculate it, or neither the gamin connect does once synchronized... after all Edge is used to monitor activities like running/cyclying/etc where you usually get "a lot of intense minutes....) so in my point of view it should calculate intensity minutes.
maybe more people could send the same "idea" at www.garmin.com/ideas
I have the same issue with my Garmin Edge 820. I rode for 1 hour and 41 minutes for 23.3 miles yesterday (HR averages 141BPM and max HR was 162BPM). No intensity minutes were recorded in Garmin Connect. This is quite annoying. When will Garmin add the IM feature in the Edge series?
this is the reply I got from support
"Daniel yes that is correct if you want you want to get intensity minutes you will need to start an activity with the Vivoactive HR. The Edge 1000 will not calculate intensity minutes since that is more for activity trackers."
.....
Is there a place to vote for features to be implemented? For me it kind of makes no sense that one device used to track activities like edge 1000 (riding/cycling/etc) does not calculate it.
Thanks
Daniel

I have the same issue with my Garmin Edge 820. I did a mountain bike ride (1.5h, HR average: 138bpm, Positive Climb: 745m): No intensity minutes were recorded in Garmin Connect. This is annoying.
I have already a Fenix 3. But did buy a Edge 820 as it is not so comfortable to use the Fenix 3 during mountain biking, especially in winter, when I wear a jacket and thick gloves. As I'm doing different sports I liked to use "Intensity Minutes" for weekly goals for my fitness. The Fenix 3 does support this.
@Garmin: When do you fix this, that also Edge devices support intensitiy minutes?
I am not sure what they did, but this weekend I ride with my garmin 1000 and my vivoactive and instead of getting 2 activities as I usually get I got only one and the source is the edge (as per garmin connect app) and it has the intensity minutes.
Now, if garmin connect is getting both and combining the activities (which it anyway should as I cannot do 2 activities at the same time) or the edge is calculating it.
but as I do not get any information from garmin here, it's kind of hard to know. I don't really want to do an activity without my vivoactive as I am not sure edge is calculating the intensity minutes or not.
but I should go out this week with my kids for a ride, will not set my vivoactive to any activity and lets see what edge will do and how the activity will look in garmin connect.
thanks
