Connect & forerunner 235 sync problems since update watch

I've updated my forerunner 235 hrm this morning and since then my watch doesn't sync anymore with connect.
Watch says waiting for app... And app says no connection.. Bluetooth on both (watch & Iphone) are working. But app can no longer find my watch since update,:mad: frustrated because my smart notifications etc doesn't work either because of this.
  • That kind of thing sometimes happens after a firmware update or a Garmin Connect Mobile app update. So remove the FR235 in the Garmin Connect Mobile app under Garmin Devices, and pair it again to see if that resolves the problem. No need to fret in the first instance, when choosing inconvenience of having to going through the pairing process anew is an alternative, after the rug has been seemingly been pulled from under you as a user.
  • I have the same issue this morning for the same reason. I've disconnected my device and tried to pair three times since, device is found, but connection fails each time. Exactly the same circumstances at the original OP. I've only had it for 8 days, needless to say I'm a bit p-ed off

I only received my forerunner 235 yesterday, set it up last night and it seemed to be working ok. Overnight my iPhone 6 updated to 9.3.2 and now the watch and phone can't find each other using Bluetooth. I have another iPhone 6 for work which is running iOS 9.3.1 and is having the same issue. I have deleted the device, and app etc several times to no avail. I'm ok with using technology but not understanding it to deeply.

Can anybody advise a solution? I was looking forward to getting on working / playing with my forerunner 235 and connect app etc but now it's only really useful as a watch!

How long will it store data on the watch if it's not syncing?

    Thanks in advance.
  • Software needs improvement

Since I updated my Forerunner 235 and Garmin Connect on 5/18/2016 they have not paired. Sometimes I have gotten iOS to pair with the watch over Bluetooth, but the app still won't pair. iOS paired over bluetooth and was still sending the watch notifications. But Connect wouldn't pair.

I have rebooted the watch. I have force quit the app, which usually solves my problems. I have deleted the device from my iPhone and attempted to pair again by on the watch going to Menu->Settings->Bluetooth->Pair Mobile Device. Good news is this worked, sorta. At this point, the watch/Connect app will not sync. When I try from the watch, it says a sync is already in progress. I have waited 5 minutes.

I force quit the app. I powered down the watch. I brought the watch up first, then Connect. I initiated a transfer from the watch and it is working. I am getting my data from the days that the watch and app were not paired.

Opinion: I have had a lot of issues with the Connect app. I have had to force quit it to get it to work so many times I have lost count. Garmin's software development and testing need to improve.
  • Sorry belated reaction;

I've removed the watch in the app, didn't resolve the problem.
I've reinstalled the app, didn't resolve it either.

Since sunday new update watch everything works again:D:D

Since i've installed the latest update on my watch, i experience no more problems..
But no worries the 235hrm has 200hours of data storage, when you've reached that limit the solution already has arrived and your watch Will be syncing with connect again...
  • i had this problem; restarted Garmin watch and re-paired with Connect app which resolved the problem
