  • latest iOS 9.3.1 installed
  • latest connect mobile App v3.5 installed

GARMIN shows up in the bluetooth settings device list but pairing fails. what can I do?

Check the forum first and you will find that all pairing is done through the GARMIN Connect app, not the iPhone Bluetooth settings.

    iOS bluetooth pairing failed

I spend 2h scanning the forum but didn't find anything helpful.

To pair the Edge 810 to the connect app the App says "go to your bluetooth settings an select the Garmin device from the list". So it's not h case that the app does all the pairing. May be it reconnects after one initial pairing but I can't manage to pair for the very first time.

If there is a helpful thread in this forum I would love to receive a link.

    thanks,

    Florian

Sounds like the same problem I'm having with my 510 since updating firmware and Garmin Connect. Bluetooth pairing works but Edge shows iphone as not being connected/paired even though on the iphone it shows the edge as connected.

I just bought a new iphone and spent over an hour trying over and over again to get the device to pair with my phone. It worked fine with my old iphone. Not happy to discover that it was caused by the app update for GCM.

Garmin seems to be sorely lacking in their QA department for their mobile app. If my team released software with regression issues as frequently as these guys do I'd be looking for a new job.

Since it didn't work for you your way, try pairing using the app only which is the right way to do it.

I am also having the same problem. I've tried pairing my blue tooth through my Fenix3HR and it fails, try pairing through the app and it fails. Came here for answers.... None so far...
