I have purchased three different sets of Bluetooth earbuds. None of them work when paired with the iPhone 6 when I track an activity like running if cycling. If I take my watch off and just use my phone there are no issues. Can someone please tell me how or why I can/can't use Bluetooth earbuds when using my fenix 3? Thanks. JD
Similar but different, I have a FR630 and my Bluetooth headphones (Beats) cut out occasionally if my phone and watch get too close together (usually when I'm bent over in a heap at the conclusion of my run!:D). I know it doesn't help your problem, but you are not totally alone. I'm guessing it has something to do with the Bluetooth antenna not being powerful enough when two devices are very close together. You can only have two Bluetooth devices connected at the same time which suggests to me that is stretching the limits of the iPhone's antenna. I'm not geek enough to understand Bluetooth technology but I presume when you pair a device, it assigns a 'channel' and if the two assigned channels are close together then it may cause a problem but I really have no idea. The only suggestion I can offer is to forget the Fenix in your Bluetooth settings, then turn on your headphones and then repair the Fenix and see if that makes a difference.
I'm sure you aren't the first to have a Fenix 3 and Bluetooth headphones so you must have lucked out with the pairing process. I'd be surprised if it is the watch causing the problem, it can' the your headphones as you have changed them, so more likely the iPhone.
