I am having the exact same problem with my new forerunner 230. I can't pair the watch to my iPhone because it won't let me get past the login page on the app. I have tried changing passwords, uninstalling/reinstalling the app, signing in using my gmail account as opposed to my garmin login...Nothing seems to work. It keeps saying "Sign in Failed. Cannot sign in. Try again later."
This is extremely frustrating to pay so much for a product and have ZERO smartwatch functionality. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Don't know if this is the problem or not, but don't pair in the iphone's bluetooth settings. Only pair in the app. If you have paired in the settings, "forget" the device there and then try to pair in the app.
