How to force sync ?

Hello,

I use garmin connect on my iPhone to connect to my vivo active. The first time I check the phone in the it hasn't synced yet with the vivo active. It eventually syncs but can take a minute or more. Most time I just close the app and check again a good while later. I can't find the "force sync" button in the app. Where is it? I'm tired of waiting for it to sync.
  • Drag down and release will usually do the trick. But, then again it may not! I gave up wondering what triggered an update a long time ago if the drag down didn't work. GC seems to have a mind of its own
  • Drag down or up, restart app, restart bluetooth, nothing ive tried forces a sync with my 920XT. Just has a mind of its own when it wants to sync. There really should be a sync button.

To force a sync with the device it needs to be initiated from the device. Go into the bluetooth menu on the watch, and if connected there'll be a "sync" option. If bluetooth isn't connected, you'll need to connect first, exit out of the bluetooth menu and go back in before you see the option.
  • And...

Dragging down on the screen while in GCM DOES sync...just not with the Garmin device.

Dragging down on the screen while in GCM syncs GCM with GC online

I've been having the same problem for some time now. On Sunday, two days ago, for example, the Connect app had no steps or other data for 3 days and it told me to sync with the device. I've tried all the suggestions that others above have offered but to no avail.

Then I read your post. I've scrolled through all of the bluetooth menu options but I cannnot find a "sync" button anywhere.

These are the options that I can see:

    Status: Connected
    Smart Notifications
    Pair Mobile Device: already paired
Connected Alerts: a switch to turn them on and off.

It's frustrating. It has no up-to-date data and tells me to sync, but there's no option to do it.

Any help on this matter will be appreciated.

    Thanks.
  • Likely differs between phones, certainly between iOS and the other OSs around. On iOS sometimes a drag down will force a sync sometimes not. Sometimes a sync will happen immediately, sometimes not. A sync does happen eventually, but have never been able to work what the trigger is.

So, it is important to tell us what device, what phone, and what OS version you are having problems with
  • I'm having this problem with a fenix 6.  The only thing that makes it sync once it jams is for me to delete Garmin connect off my phone then download again.  Having to do this every few days Disappointed
