How to trigger sync of activities from device

Hi,

I am using my iPhone to sync activities from my Fenix 3 to GC while on vacation. I cannot setup WiFi on the watch because I have no computer with me. The sync via the app works, but it is not really clear to me how it is triggered. Sometimes I open the app and the sync starts, sometimes it doesn't. Is there any way to manually trigger the sync?

Thanks!

You can try killing the app (double pressing the home button and swiping up on the app page), and then restarting it. Sometimes works, sometimes not. I agree, there should be a choice on the device to initiate a sync. I have a vivoactive which doesn't have it. Used to have a vivosmart which did. Strange.

I have a forerunner 235 and have the same issue. Sometimes it takes over 45mins to start a sync. I had a Fitbit surge before and could manually start a sync at any time.
  • I find that, if I kill the GC app, relaunch it, exit out (by pressing the home button), then re-entering GC, it will initiate a sync.

    YMMV

There is a way to do it on the 235. Took me a while to find it too. Cycle through the widget screens (bottom left button) and there's a control widget. Select that one, and cycle through the options. The last one is a sync option.

Awesome, thank you for that :-)
