Editing sleep data, 1 hour off

Has anyone experienced this problem?

I launched the latest version of GC iOS and tried to edit the sleep data (start & end time) because it was clearly off.

I selected 10pm as my start time ... but when I pressed Done, it displayed 9pm.

Every time I select is precisely 1 hour behind.

Of course most of the US just had it's biannual daylight savings time shift, so I'm thinking that might be the problem.

Yes, that's the problem. What device are you using? If it pairs to your phone, make sure it's set to be updated from Mobile.

Also check Connect on the web's user settings - display settings and make sure you have the correct time zone selected.
  • It's not the device that's having the problem, it's Garmin Connevt on my iPhone.
  • Three elements are necessary to get accurate time records. Connect on the web needs to be correct. If it's wrong, what will get pushed to your phone will be wrong. The phone's time setting needs to be consistent with the computer. The band's clock should be updated by mobile not manual. If all 3 are consistent, you shouldn't have this issue.
  • I think you're missing the critical part of the problem.

This has nothing to do with the activity tracker (VivoActive in my case) ... it's strictly related to the iOS app.

Once sleep was recorded, I went to edit the start & end time on my phone. When I selected 10pm, pressed the Done button, the app displayed 9pm.
  • I get it but I'm doing a poor job of explaining. For some reason, the app thinks it needs to adjust what it gets from the watch by an hour. That often happens when the watch's time is set manually rather than integrated directly with the phone. Your app knows it's Standard time now but apparently the watch doesn't.

Is your Vivoactive clock set to manual or mobile update? If it's manual, it could still be thinking it's DST but when it gets to the app, the app adjusts it taking into account what it believes is the time zone of the watch.
  • The VA time is set from the phone.
