sync transfers wrong step data from vivosmart

since 2 days the app shows that I do millions of steps, while the vivosmart device shows correct figures (around 15.000). this wrong step data is also then transfered to the internet version garmin.connect.com. quite annoying, because it completely messes up my daily average figures!
also the sleeping time is recorded wrong (since I moved from Europe to Asia) with a 6 hrs difference, despite I entered the new time zone. Strange thing here - it is shown wrong in the app, but in the internet connect it shows correct times.
any suggestions here on that issue? thx in advance, Andreas
  • You don't mention it but your millions of steps issue is likely caused by a connection to the cadence/speed sensor on your bike and a bug since 3.50 came out. There are multiple threads about that issue on this forum. At one point garmin said it was fixed, but people reported that it was continuing.

On your vivosmart, is it set to get its time from the mobile app or manual? Go to the clock icon on the vivosmart and set it to automatic. The vivosmart may think you're still in Europe.
  • thanks, Phil, for your reply! yes, you are right, I did use the speedometer for the bike that 2 days - but I used it many times before without problems (that's why that cause did not come to my mind).
and you are right again, the time on the vivosmart was on manal, switched it now to mobile device.
just going out for a round on the bike - so lets see how many million of steps I'll get today 😐
