I have had a similar issue with my Fenix 3. Several times I have noticed that it was not connected and found that once I start the app it would connect, but android would prompt me requesting permissions to send notifications. I do not know why it was requesting this since it was already checked as enabled and I had this 3 times so far.
I tried going into the android settings -> notification and manually disabled and re-enabled this and it has not happened again so I am hoping this will be fixed now. Definitely something caused by the latest update though. S5 too.
I have been unable to sync my vivosmart after the last Garmin Connect Update. My device is discoverable as a Bluetooth device but the app times out when attempting to pair. I have a Samsung s4. I probably made things worse by reinstalling the app on my phone, since I've been unable to connect the device to the app. Any suggestions?
Since you're not paired at the moment. go to settings and clear your cache and data. Then try again with a slightly different name for the vivosmart. It worked for someone else recently.
