Block notifications at night

I have a Vivoactive and the latest Connect Mobile for Android running on a Samsung Note 2 but can't find a way to block notifications at night. Blocking mode on the phone or setting to silent has no effect and setting the sleep time in the App has no effect.

On the Pebble watch you can set a "do not disturb" time directly at the watch. Why do we not have this facility? I do suspect this is a Android issue andossibly phone dependant as I can find any mention of this fault by others.
  • How about turning off bluetooth when going to bed?

I want a smart solution for a smart watch not a manual interaction!

I can't understand why others are not annoyed with this issue.
  • Maybe use to configured sleep times to suppress the vibrations, but still get the notifications on the watch?

I do have the normal sleep times set in Connect but this makes no difference, I still get the vibrations.

I meant this as something garmin could to so the suppression would be automatic. It would be a new feature.

Indeed, I would have thought this should have already been included but should certainly be a high priority as it is simple to implement and provide all users with an improved experience.
  • Yes please

This was the first nuisance I ran into with my new Fenix 3. Android and iPhone have a "do not disturb" feature and on my Android, this setting appears to have no impact. I have it scheduled so that "priority mode" starts/stops at a scheduled time and it would be great if my watch followed the same notification rules set by my mobile OS. It sucks having to remember to toggle Bluetooth before bed so that i do not have some notification waking me up while I sleep.

At least on the Fenix 3 you have this so do not have to turn off bluetooth. There is a sleep mode which is used to set the start and end of sleep times which also disables the notifications. This is what I have always used. Sure, you no longer need to do this since Garmin connect was updated to recognise your sleep times automatically, but this is more accurate and has the advantage of turning off the notifications. Of course this is something still manual, but is on the watch rather than on the phone.

I'm not sure I would want to have the notifications disabled based on my "default" sleep times as I would then miss notifications if I happened to be up later.

On the Fenix 3, use the down button to bring up the step page, and then press enter(start/stop) to go into sleep mode, and then once in sleep mode press any key to exit sleep mode.

Not sure if the Vivoactive has anything similar.
  • Any update on this?

How come? Doesn't the ">‑HR have a Do Not Disturb mode">vívoactive‑HR have a Do Not Disturb mode?
