Garmin Build 2.12 Has broken EPIX Swim Sync ability

Has anybody else seen this ? Its driving me nuts. Ever since GMC was upgraded to build 2.12 it will not sync any swim sessions!
It syncs other custom Activity sessions like Gym (weights training) but reports a sync failure when I have a sym session to upload.
This wasn't an issue before 2.12.

I have tried
1. Deleting all activities from the history.
2. Upgrading all the firmware on the watch via laptop and Garmin Express.
3. Deleting the GMC App from my phone and reinstalling it again.
4. Various phone and watch reboots

... all to no avail !!! To get swim data I have to use Garmin Express and USB.

Garmin do you actually test your software ?

Strange I connected via Garmin Express and upgraded to firmware 2.50 ... it now works

I also had an incompatible Activity (According to Express) file which I deleted (just one of many swims whose files were OK and uploaded OK into Garmin Express).
After 2.50 all swims seem to be uploading now.
