Garmin Connect Mobile on Samsung Galaxy S6 turns the volume down

Hi all,

I've faced a strange problem with Garmin Connect Mobile (2.12) on Samsung Galaxy S6 (5.1.1) - after installation of GCM, whenever I'm listening to the music the volume turns down on its own. It always happens when the screen is get locked/unlocked, and spontaneously at other times.

Have anyone experienced such problem? Seems to be a bug in GCM or am I missing something? Would appreciate any thoughts.

Thanks.

I've found the same problem and its really odd as Garmin Connect doesn't play any audio.

Garmin S6 Edge running Android 5.1.1

    Steps to reproduce :

install Garmin Connect (no need to connect to any devices)
Set the media volume to say 20%
Either hit the power button to blank / lock the screen or let it happen on a time out
    Unlock the screen
Check the media volume and its been reset back to 0% or mute.

If you remove Garmin Connect the problem goes away, reinstall it and it returns.

This is a real nuisance as I use Garmin Connect daily. If I play any audio as soon as the phone is locked its muted and you have to raise the volume again.

I can share an android dumpstate if it helps.

Galaxy Note 4 with the same media problem.

I own vivosmart and Galaxy Note 4. I have the exact same problem with GCM. Actually there was the same problem with Galaxy S4 but I thought the issue was with ageing S4 malfunctioning until the exact same problem occurred with the brand new Note 4. Anybody heard from Garmin support about this issue?

I have the same problem on my Galaxy Note 5. It's such a pain and doesn't let me use my phone normally on an every day basis. I love the wrist band but I'll probably return it to get a Fitbit or something because as great as the hardware is, it is useless to me as the software drags it down.
  • The same problem with garmin connect

I have just bought a Fenix 3 HR and I have exactly the same problem. Has anybody any piece of news about this bug?

    I'd appreciate any information.

    Thanks in advance.
  • I have a Edge820 paired with my Note3. I have the same problem. Still no solution? The connection app is useless with this bug.
  • It's not universal; Try Samsung SoundAssistant

I use a ForeRunner 235 with a Samsung Galaxy S7 and haven't experienced this issue.

Samsung released a "SoundAssistant" app in the last few days that might help. There's a writeup on Android Authority. It only works on Android 7.0.
