Can't get Live Track to Work 'No Signal. Trying to reconnect' permanently

I have so far failed to get Live Track to work at all. All I get is 'No Signal. Trying to reconnect' all the time. Even when I know my phone has signal.

I have a Garmin 510 with the latest firmware.
Samsung Galaxy S6 with latest version of Garmin Connect (which seems to have an update every other day at the moment).

I start Live Track on my Phone (sending out the invites) and then turn on my Garmin. The Garmin turns on and connects to my phone (previously paired). I then start a ride.

Am I missing some obvious step?

The connection to the phone and Garmin appear good. The weather feature seems to work fine. But I always get 'No Signal. Trying to reconnect' when anyone follows the Garmin link.

Any ideas anyone?

Also as a separate issue. When I finish my ride and click SAVE quite often my Garmin just freezes on this screen. I have to turn the Garmin off and on again and sync the ride the old fashioned way with a USB cable.
  • I eventually found the solution. I didn't realise you had to have the Garmin turned on before you started the live track on the app.
