LiveTrack Does Not Resume after Momentary Bluetooth Disruption

Using LiveTrack with Garmin 920XT and Garmin Connect Mobile App on Android works great as long the Bluetooth Connection stays stable for the entire activity. If the bluetooth connection is lost, even for just a couple seconds, and then reestablished, the LiveTrack session is ended and it does not ever resume. This is very frustrating, especially if the bluetooth "blip" happens near the start of a long activity.

What makes this even more frustrating is that the Garmin software knows that the connection has been reestablished - it gives an alert on my 920XT, "Phone Connected". It seems, therefore, that it would be well within their capability to resume the interrupted LiveTrack session.

I have had this happen many times on training runs. I'm thankful that it did not happen during my recent marathon - my wife was tracking me so she could be at the right place at the right time to cheer me on.

Has anyone else experienced this?
  • Yes,it happened to me as I switched from an xperia mini to a samsung s4mini. I think it could deal with bt 4 protocol.
I had success in my latest rides switching bt on FIRST on phone THEN on edge 510, so phone will be host.
