I really support this. The new layout of the Garmin Connect APP is a huge step backwards. If Garmin wants to change the layout in such a dramatic way they should offer the users at least an Option to use the old or the new layout, as they did and to my knowledge still do with the web-Version.
It is looking more like fitbit interface with a view of everything on one screen, I like the visual glance at everything without having to scroll through the panels. I would like to have both though.
I used to have a list of activites, courses, personal records, weight, etc, etc. Now I have 1 actvity and the most recent weight entry and that's it. was this an uppdate or did you accidentally revert to an old version? This is a HUGE step backward.
I just upgraded gc, I wonder what is the 3rd voice under device settings. In Italian it's ''avvisi'' ,don't know what they wrote in English, maybe ''notice''. I have an edge 510, the first voice is ''automatic'' and I guess it deals with auto upload of activities, the second is ''weather''.
Click on News Feed if you want to see your last few activities.
I like the new app. Works at least as well as the old one and looks like it was made in the last decade
I don't see any widget though.
You can see the activities in the News Feed, but you can't edit as far as I can see (which if you record multi sports/ activities is fairly important). The "activities" on the old version was something I thought worked well to be honest.
I never had a problem with the look of the old version of the app - I don't see a loss of functionality as progress.
I just checked and I'm on 2.9.1 (Android 4.4.4). I have Connect set to not update automatically in the Play Store so I didn't even realize there was a later version. In 2.9.1, the widget gets added to the display by the same icon you to add content to the display.
BTW, I can view the activities but I believe the only editing I can do is to properly categorize and rename the activity. Nothing more.
