mouse pointer on phone screen

When connecting my HTC One M7 and Garmin GPSmap 64st via blue I have a mouse pointer on screen which I can't control or remove. Any one seen this before?
Also no data is transferred to Garmin Connect Mobile App but of course with a mouse running over the screen its difficult to do anything at all
Perhaps these two are not compatible, some documentation says they are, others not.
Any ideas?
  • I am having the same issue with my Galaxy S5. As soon as I connect the watch to the phone the cursor shows up and it starts clicking anything it is over. Only way to turn it off is to disconnect the bluetooth. I would like to use the Garmin Connect app though. Have you found a way around it?
  • Just updated the firmware on the watch and the problems are gone.

Glad to hear you found a solution. I've not been able to overcome this problem - removed the app.

    GARMIN - any ideas?

  • Since the GPSMap 64 has a cursor function in some places, such as when scrolling around on the map, Android phones recognize that as an input device that is similar to a wireless mouse. There is a fairly easy way to disable that from the phone itself, though the process could be slightly different based on your phone manufacturer or Android version. It you go to the phone's Bluetooth menu and then select the icon to the right of the of the listing of the GPSMap, the icon usually looks like a gear or a lowercase I, it will open up a little window and then you will want to uncheck the box next to input device, confirm that you want to turn it off, and the cursor should no longer appear on the phone.
