vivosmart not reconnecting to phone on app restart

Hi all

Another challenge with my new vivosmart...

I managed to get the sync working apparently well and consistently, but have now come across a new problem.

If I exit the Garmin connect app on my phone, the vivosmart immediately loses the BT connection.. This isn't a surprise, as I know my Edge 510 also relies on the app being open to do anything useful.

The problem is that when I restart the app, the vivosmart doesn't reconnect unless I re-pair it.

This is a tedious process which I should surely not need to go through every time I back out of the app.

Any help would be appreciated - I think I'm currently burning more calories trying to get this d**n thing to work right than I am in any exercise!
