Android Update - Why does Garmin need access to my phone log???

Hello,

I have just updated my Android app which asked me for permission to use my phone log(???!!!).

What for, since when does jogging allow you to data mine to such an extent?

The GC app is the same for all fitness devices. Some devices have "smart notifications" where incoming call/message information will be displayed on the Garmin. I'm guessing the app need access to phone info to accommodate this feature.
