Just had a quick look through the compatible smartphone list and was a little shocked not to find the Z3 listed.

Does anyone know if the Connect Mobile features work on the Z3 please?

Decided to upgrade from WP which doesn't look like it will ever be seeing Connect Mobile and it looks like I've gone for a smartphone which isn't supported!!

    So far, so good. App installed no probs and paired the 1000. The app looks very good too. Still need to test the other features though.

    Hmm perhaps I spoke too soon. The 1000 paired with the phone but it's not pairing with the app.

    Just called support and went through the steps to pair again, still no joy. Uninstalled and reinstalled the app to no effect.

    Support guy said that it looks like it's not fully compatible with the Z3. The app probably needs an update but he's unable to give me a time frame of when that will happen so it looks like the Z3 will be going back.

    The Garmin Connect Mobile app got an update yesterday but still no Z3 support.

    I've been thinking about alternative phones and the newest compatible Android is the S5 which I'm not overly keen on. The Galaxy Note 4 looks impressive even if a little big but would I be in the same situation as I am now as the Note 4 isn't on the compatible list, even though the Note 2 and 3 are??

    I am on the Z3 compact....no problem for me

    first paired it with the phone and could not find or pair the FR920xt watch in GCM

    removed(un-paired) it from the phone and paired it via GCM

    still working after this

    do you have the Smart Notifications activated in GCM settings ?

    Smart Notifications are enabled in GCM.

    What version of Android are you running on your Z3 Compact please?

    Also, just to point out that I'm unable to directly pair in the GCM app in the same way you may be able to. When I go to Devices, I can see the Edge 1000 and it shows as 'not paired'. There's an option to 'pair device', but when that is selected, it just goes to a screen with instructions telling me to set the 1000 to pair with the phone, then go to Bluetooth settings on the phone to pair. After that, return to the app and if successful, it will show as paired in GCM. As far as I can tell, there's no way to pair directly in the app...it just acts as a shortcut to Bluetooth settings on the phone.

    I returned the Z3 and have gone for the Note 4 instead. Again, it doesn't work with GCM app and again, it's not on the list of compatible Android devices, although it does meet the other requirements.

    Guess I'll have to wait for an update.

    The only thing I haven't tried is resetting the Garmin Edge 1000. Have restarted it and the phone(s), re-paired, uninstalled/reinstalled the app a number of times.

    Guess I can wait. The Note 4 is absolutely first rate!
