Sleep time set but not registering

I often forget to put my Vivofit into sleep mode at night, but I have my usual sleep start time and wake time set. I thought the idea of that was that Connect would show my sleep data even if I didn't go to sleep mode manually. But on synching, sleep is never shown unless I remembered to set the mode manually.

Bug? Operator error? Suggestions?

Thanks.

My understanding is that setting the sleep time is to stop the Red "inactivity bar" during that period.

I will be glad to assist you. The sleep graph will only display if you either set the watch for sleep mode manually, or you confirm your sleep start and wake time after you sync the following day. You will need to access the sleep widget to confirm the sleep times.

So what exactly is the point of setting sleep and wake times in the app if you have to confirm them each day anyway?

Anyone have an answer for this? I'm assuming that setting the sleep and wake times in the device settings is to stop the device from going off throughout the night with notifications and move bar reminders ... but it'd be nice to know for sure.

    Cheers.
