Just got an update on my Droid phone.

" Vivofit support"
"Support for connecting, sharing and competing with friends".

2.0.2.
-Edge weather fixed.
-Bug Fixes.

6.3 meg.
  • I just installed the update on a Samsung Galaxy Light, and while it's been syncing fine for the 2 weeks since I got a vivofit, it now is telling me that the phone (that has been working) doesn't have Bluetooth Smart! Not happy... :(

TEE81: I've updated the Sticky regarding the Weather Alert issue, which includes some troubleshooting steps that I would recommend you try. Here's what was posted:

*UPDATE: Garmin Connect Mobile v2.0.2 (Released on 3/19/14 for Android) is now available for download on the Google Play marketplace. The Weather Report issue has been addressed in this update and should be fixed. If you continue experiencing issues with this, please try the following troubleshooting steps:

    • Ensure that you're running the latest version of Garmin Connect Mobile.
    • Ensure that you're running the latest software version on your Edge device using Garmin Express.
    • Ensure that you have the latest version of Android OS installed on your device.
    • Ensure that Weather is 'On' from within the Garmin Connect Mobile app. (To do this, connect the Edge to the GCM Application via Bluetooth. Once connected, Tap on Menu > Devices > Details (under the connected Edge device) > Settings > Toggle Weather to 'Yes'. Be sure to return to the Home screen to implement this change.)
    • If Weather is still unavailable, Turn Bluetooth Off/On and Repair the connection between the Android and Edge devices.
    • If Weather is still unavailable, Power Off/On both the Android and Edge devices and Repair the Bluetooth connection.

Please let us know if you continue experiencing Weather Report issues after all troubleshooting attempts have been made. Thank you for your feedback!

Thanks alot. I have repaired the connection and now it works for me.
  • 4. Ensure that Weather is 'On' from within the Garmin Connect Mobile app. (To do this, connect the Edge to the Application via Bluetooth. Once connected, Tap on Menu > Devices > Details (under the connected Edge device) > Settings > Toggle Weather to 'Yes'. Be sure to return to the Home screen to implement this change.)

=> Cannot select that menu. and cannot upload with bluetooth.
=> This problem has occurred since the GCM v2.0.
    => I have edge 510 korean version.
  • No possibility to have satellite view in additional to the map view. The Garmin app is still far behind others app like runtastic...
  • Unreliable I would say.
    I have a Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 with official android 4.3. and the 620 with 2.6 firmware

Pairing: (sw2.0.1)I have done the paring process two times. During the pairing, the 620 reports “Paired” but GCM just hangs on the pairing message, I than Just kill GCM in task manager. After that it auto connects each time.

The big problem for me is that the 620 rarely upload the activity to the phone or the phone don’t upload to Garmin Connect
I still get the error message (with 2.0.2) at the bottom of the screen in GCM with something like “Sync failed upload error”. Under “Device Sync Audit” I can see the error log for the transfer.

    ---Sync Info---
    DeviceSyncService
    ******************** SYNC RESULT ********************
Upload Status=FAILED [Unable to download file successfully: ERROR_CRC_MISMATCH]
Download Status=SUCCESSFUL (No item to process)
    Time Sync Status=SUCCESSFUL
    Overall Sync Status=FAILED
    *****************************************************
If the transfer fails one time, it never tries again. I have also had apparently successful transfers that never shows on Garmin Connect. (I guess transferred to phone but not from phone to garmin)

I usually transfer my workouts via WiFi at home (Netgear WNDR 4000) this is working almost each time. I have the 620 set for manual upload and press the connect button when close to the router (success 8 out of 10). I have also set up my phone as a “Portable Wi-Fi hot spot” and tried WiFi transfer and this fail 8 out of 10 times.

I think that a good piece of hardware are ruined by bad software. That goes for 620 sw (restarts after workouts) and for GCM.

In sw 2.0.1 the map view was very smooth and gave me satellite view (pressed "menu" in map view). In 2.0.2 the satellite view is gone?? I also think the “Like button” as the first page under details for activity is an extremely bad choice.
  • Hi, can someone please share the APK as I am attempting to sideload it onto my BB10 device. Thanks!

I have also had apparently successful transfers that never shows on Garmin Connect.

Perhaps the activity files on your 620 are corrupt. Let's remove all the files from the 620 and upload them manually via "connect.garmin.com".
    1. Connect the 620 via USB on a computer.
    2. Open the 'GARMIN' drive and navigate to GARMIN > ACTIVITY
    3. Copy the *.FIT files to the computer.
    4. Sign in to connect.garmin.com and manually upload each FIT file. (If one is corrupt, the website will indirectly indicate as such with an error message.)
    5. Delete those fit files from the Garmin device.
    6. Also copy and delete all files from the NEWFILES directory.

I think starting with empty directories will help.

NOTE: What I'm about to explain will be fixed in version 2.1 (scheduled for late April). Sync will always fail if your Android device goes to "sleep" while sync is in progress. This is controlled by the "screen timeout" setting. If your phone is set to 15 seconds - 2 minutes, sync will often fail (depending on how many files the 620 needs to upload to Connect). Set that timeout to 10 minutes or so or the time being will help. In 2.1, we will hold what's called a "wake lock" during sync, so although the screen may dim, the app won't go completely into the background, thus, allowing the app to continue its work. This code is independent of the phone's timeout setting (so even though you could have it set to 15 seconds... the app itself will manage the "wake lock").

Sat view is back in with version 2.0.3. Sorry about that...
