Phone crashing/rebooting after GCMob 2.0.x install ?

I still got problems with connecting my FR220.
I get a time out error when I try to connect.
Password is correct.

I'm using a nexus 5 and android 4.4 .

My tactix won't work either, this seems to be a firmware problem on the fenix/ tactic.

Any solutions?

    Phone crashing/rebooting after GCMob 2.0.x install ?

My Nexus 4 ( 4.4.2) has been rock solid for months now.
Since i instlled GCMob 2.0.# my phone last week my phone reboots once or twice a day.
It may or may not be related.

I usually STOP an app in Settings> Apps if i'm not going to use it again that day and have done so for 18 months with out a problem.

Have you since updated the app to v2.0.1?

We have tested v2.0.1 of the app in-house on a Nexus 4, running 4.4.2, and have not experienced any similar issue.

If your issue persists after updating to v2.0.1, we would also recommend uninstalling the app, rebooting the phone manually, and then reinstalling the app.

This is a known issue with the Nexus devices in general that is caused by inconsistencies in the Bluetooth connection and is part of the reason they are not officially supported yet (see FAQ).

That said, please try rebooting both the phone and the device, then attempting the pairing again. In many cases, attempting the pairing after a restart alleviates the issue.

Unfortunately, the Tactix (as well as the D2, Fenix, and Quatix) has not yet been added to the list of compatible devices in the Android versions of the app, due to connection/firmware issues.

However, we do plan to add support for the Fenix/D2/Tactix/Quatix with a future release, once the connection issue is resolved. Unfortunately, at this time, we do not have an ETA.

    Thanx GCMsupport,
Yes it was 2.0.1 that upgraded from 2.0 which upgraded from the old version that worked with the 510/810 of about December 2013..

I Have uninstalled , rebooted and reinstalled 2.0.1.
    Will see how it goes.
  • That did the job.

    FR220 connected.
live tracking is working fine now.
mobile sync does work as well.

    thanks for the tip.
  • I'm having frequent issues with reconnection on my Nexus 5. It pairs, but then wont reconnect itself the next day - meaning I have to re-pair. The phone gets rebooted at least once a day between connections. I've raised a support email, but sounds like this is a known issue with the Nexus.

This is one of the reasons why the Nexus devices are not officially supported by the app.

DOUG996INKC's posts here may help explain the reasons why better.
