Fenix + any android device?

Please anyone try connect Fénix with some andoid device? Smartphone or tablet with BT4.0
I´d like to buy some new smartpone and dont know how to pick the funcional one.
My idea is that in the field, I will be able to upload training or the route (or geocache) to watch.
Thanks for any suggestions.
  • Well I just did... not in the list of supported devices in GarminConnect Mobile 2.0 on Android - the helpful message is that my Garmin device may not have bluetooth support... the phone does, the OS does (Kitkat 4.4.2) and the Fenix does (4.11 beta).

I'm not after much here - just the ability to transfer my tracks to Garmin Connect without *having* to use a PC/Mac...

Having passed that by, now the app force closes when trying to access the (empty) device list. What an improvement
  • Same problem - Galaxy S3 - base camp 2.0 installed, but no option to pick pair with Fénix !

Unfortunately, the Fenix (as well as the D2, Tactix, and Quatix) has not yet been added to the list of compatible devices in the Android versions of the app, due to connection/firmware issues.

However, we do plan to add support for the Fenix/D2/Tactix/Quatix with a future release, once the issue have been resolved. Unfortunately, at this time, we do not have an ETA.

Actually, I'm stuck with my Verizon Galaxy S4 at the bluetooth pairing point. I'm on the 4.11 beta firmware as well. Should it be able to pair? The phone doesn't see the watch in pairing mode. I've rebooted the phone, restarted bluetooth and have also restarted and reset the Fenix.

Will it take another firmware update before they'll pair? Thanks.

    Sean

Good to hear, but would be even better if you (and the other teams at Garmin) could consistently & positively engage here. Creating a new forum for Fenix/Tactic/D2 (and vivofit) also needed...
  • Tactix has Blue tooth

Please add the tactic, Felix and new quantix to Garmin connect mobile

  • Fenix support ?

    Hello,

I have Connect Mobile on an Samsung Galaxy Note 3. Android 4.3, bluetooth 4.0 support, connects to and reads Garmin Tempe directly.

I can't connect to my Fenix with new 4.12 beta firmware, whereas it works with Garmin Connect on iOS.

Is the Fenix not supported on Android ?

FWIW, I'm an eager beaver so had to try the 4.13 beta to see if it would pair bluetooth (I know it wasn't mentioned in the changelog). Just here to report that the Fenix still doesn't show up on my Galaxy S4 when trying to pair to save effort of any that don't want to upgrade their firmware just for android bt.
    Thanks, being patient. :^)
