Sync sunk, recovery or not.

The sync problems are making me crazy!!!

And the treatment. Sometimes it doesn't work or only works temporarily or it might last for months but NEVER forever. So anyway I think this is the treatment but I might be slightly wrong or are there additional things I could do?

Turn the phone off and on.

If that doesn't work:

A) Clear the cache in Connect IQ and Garmin Connect. Maybe also the data??

B) Unpair watch bluetooth connection and make sure it's not in available devices.

C) Cycle the phone off and on.

D) Reconnect the watch.

E) If you have more than one watch on Connect, make sure it's priority is set as you want.

  • What phone do you have?

I've never experienced any sync issues with Pixel 6 Pro and any of my last watches (Enduro 3, FR945, Darth Vader, First Avenger and FR920XT).

One thing that I do is that I've given Garmin Connect all permissions, always let it run (never force close) and I never turn off bluetooth on the phone or watch. The watch is never in battery saver mode.

  • S26.

Unfortunately, Samsung Galaxy S phones are notorically known for this kind of problems. They have very weak filters separating Bluetooth and Wi-Fi frequencies, causing interference between those two, both of them using the 2.4GHz band.  And it is especially bad for low energy devices (like Garmin watches). If you can switch to the 5GHz Wi-Fi, do it. If not, you can try resetting the entire network in Android settings - it can help assigning new channels to the Wi-Fi and BT, separating them slightly better. Also make sure you reviewed all battery saving features, and performance/energy optimizing options of the phone and exclude Garmin Connect. Manufacturers like Samsung, Xiaomi, and others add non-standard Android options that shut off BT, or reduce power, which then prevents Garmin Connect from communicating with the watch..

  • Thanks for the advice on 5 ghz.
