problem message in Live Track mail to defined recipients: "No position data. The page will update automatically when position data becomes available."

Dear forum members,

I have a new Etrex Touch 2025.

1. The device is successfully connected via Bluetooth to my cell phone (S24 Ultra) and Garmin Connect—Garmin Connect shows the Touch as “connected”—the top right corner of the home screen displays a green dot and the text “connected.”

2. App permissions: Location access is always allowed, and no battery restrictions are set.

3. The Touch has excellent satellite reception.

4. In the Live Track menu in Garmin Connect, 3 recipients are listed, and Live Track notifications are enabled.

5. I start an activity on the Touch; both the Touch and Garmin Connect indicate that a Live Track session has started. I receive an email with a link to

6. BUT: 1. Immediately after Live Track starts, I receive a banner in Garmin Connect telling me to start the activity (which has already been started, thereby

activating Live Track...)

2. When I click the “View Activity in LiveTrack” button in the info email stating that Live Track has started, the map appears, but without a location and with the message:

"No location data. The page will refresh automatically when location data is available.”

But on the map on the Touch, I see the blue arrow even though satellite reception is excellent. Bluetooth is enabled, and the Touch and my phone are right next to each other.

3. By the way, Garmin Connect Live Track doesn’t stop automatically after I end the activity on the Touch.

So: On the device, you can see the exact location, and the device is connected to the Garmin Connect app via Bluetooth without any issues.

So why can’t I see the location on the map or the Live Track button in the app?

Based on my experience with previous devices, new Garmin devices usually have a few bugs that are gradually fixed over the following months.

But the eTrex Touch came out in 2025, right? By now, these issues should have been resolved.

Unfortunately, I had to switch because the Bluetooth transmitter/receiver on my old Edge 1030 was apparently broken and could no longer pair with my phone (meaning Live Track was no longer possible).

Garmin Connect 5.28.1

eTrex Touch 2025 12.08 (cc43ff6), GPS 11.02, Serial No. 8G6006989

I’d really appreciate some help. Without Live Track, the new Garmin device is useless to me—I might as well have stuck with my old Edge 1030 Plus without Bluetooth if I’d known that :-(. It’s very frustrating.

Thanks in advance to everyone
