Simplest way ti upload Google maps route to Garmin watch?

What is the simplest way to using only my Android phone upload a Google maps route to my watch? It seems google maps references are not plain GPX so some conversion is required.

I have seen some guides but they all seem to involve several steps not easy to do only on my Android phone.

How do others solve this with as few steps as possible?

I really wish Garmins software would directly support this use-case without the need for other tools...

There is no direct way to get it from Google Maps app to your Garmin device. You need a converter site, such as Maps to GPX . This might be what you're already doing: 
 
 Open the Google Maps app and create your directions. 
 Tap the Share icon. 
 Tap Copy to copy the route link. 
 Open mapstogpx.com in your browser. 
 Paste the link. 
 Tap Let&rsquo;s Go, then save the GPX file. 
 Open the downloaded file and choose Garmin Connect. 
 Follow the prompts to set the course type and send it to your Garmin watch. 
 
 If you want Garmin to support this directly, you can submit it on their Share Ideas page. That&rsquo;s the official place where users request new features.
