First 5k not recorded on personal records.

Question

I ran my first 5k today, 5.23km to be exact. But my garmin app hasn't recorded it as my first 5k. The activity is logged as 5.23km, but my records won't update. 
 
 I've restarted the watch, my phone, synced... nothing. 
 
 Any ideas?

 It is not the app that detects records, it is the watch. Which model do you own? Is it a new watch, or an preowned one? 
 You can assign the record manually, but I recommend trimming it to 5 km before doing so. Also, have a look at the following documents for some more details:
