I use a 40lb kettlebell but have to substitute two or three of the exercises with a dumbbell or barbell equivalent. Is this causing the issue?

Hi 4613654 the Total Volume is Reps x Weight for each workout so a substitution for a heavier or lighter weight could change this value.
Right so l did 250 reps of 40 lbs.....that should be 10k of total volume but it's consistently coming up as 9990
I confirmed this myself. I did one set of 250 reps at 40 lbs, and it didn’t matter which exercise it was. In the Garmin Connect app for Android, the total weight shows as 9,990 lbs.

In Garmin Connect Web the total is correct and showing as 10000 lbs

For reference, my Epix (Gen 2) watch shows the total as 9,992 lbs, so it seems all three Garmin platforms use slightly different rounding or truncation methods for the same 250 × 40 lb set.
I usually stick to the desktop web version, so I never would have noticed the discrepancy until you pointed it out.
Today was even worse when I did extra set to hit 10400
It might be tied to the latest app version (v5.29). I reviewed several past workouts from the last few months and compared them with Garmin Connect Web, and everything matched perfectly. Since I often make edits using the web interface, I updated my test workout to give the single set an exercise name, and then both the web and the app showed the same total weight volume of 10,000 lbs.
