Hello,
I am experiencing persistent and frustrating synchronization issues between my Forerunner 935 (firmware up to date) and my Google Pixel 6 (Android 17).
The issue: When I trigger a sync in the Garmin Connect app, the process begins but stops abruptly without any error message. Activities are not uploaded.
-
Observations: The watch shows as "Connected" in the app, and real-time data (like heart rate) is visible, indicating the Bluetooth link is active.
-
Side effect: LiveTrack no longer triggers automatically when starting an activity.
-
The Sync Audit+ mystery: When the sync fails, no entries are generated in the "Device Sync Audit+" logs. It seems the sync process crashes before it can even log an event.
Troubleshooting performed: I have already attempted the following, but these only provide a temporary fix (ranging from a few hours to a few weeks):
-
Full factory reset of the watch.
-
Uninstalled/Reinstalled Garmin Connect.
-
Removed and re-paired the device.
-
Verified that battery optimization for Garmin Connect is set to "Unrestricted."
When I re-pair the device, the pending activities upload successfully, which suggests the data itself is valid, but the synchronization mechanism breaks down shortly after.
Note also that when I do the sync with the PC and the watch connected through the cable on the Garmin express software. The sync works.
Has anyone encountered this "silent sync crash" on the Forerunner 935? Are there any hidden debug steps or cache clears (beyond the app level) that I might have missed to prevent this from recurring?
Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.
