Garmin Connect Version 5.26.1 stuck on loading screen (Android)

Today I started having the same problem. The app has been working great up till now. Current version is 5.27.3.

I tried everything possible, including deleting cache, deleting storage, uninstalling and reinstalling the app, deleting the Play Store's cache and updates, then reupdating. Restarted the phone multiple times. Nothing works, get stuck on the same screen in the attached photo. Have a Google Pixel 6 Pro with latest Android OS version.

My wife has an identical phone and has the exact same issue. Bummer.
