missing some data in connect after synchronizing two watches (Epix 2 and Vivoactive 3)

Hey there,

as my Epix 2 gets darker and darker after less then 4 years Unamused and is completely unusable meanwhile as bike computer ourtoors, i started to revive my old Vivoactive 3 just for bicycle rides.Connecting it additionally to the first watch (Epix2) to connect (Android) was easy. After the ride, i first asynchronized the Viviactive, then the Epix, wich is my main watch for all day use.

After synchronizing, the bike tour appeared in connect, as the intensity minutes too, so the synchronisation seemed to work correctly Thumbsup. But for "training load" (hope this is correct, in german it's "Trainingsbelastung"), i didn't do anything this day, so the activity wasn't included, even if it's present in other statistics.

Did i miss some settings to include the second watch in this statistics or is it a bug in connect?

(Connect on the Android phone or connect web on windows 11 show the same result).

Thanks and regards, Michael

  • If you did not do it, you may need to sync both devices multiple times, in order that they exchange and process all Physio TrueUp data. Have a look at the article What is Unified Training Status? | Garmin Customer Support for more details. The diagram below shows the process when recording an activity on a non-primary wearable device (in this case it is an Edge computer, but it can be a watch too):

  • Hi trux,

    thanks for your answer!!

I did syncronisation on both watches several times (Epix 2 is set as main watch)  - no change. The activity (from the Vivoactive 3) itself is shown in connect and also included in the intensity minutes, but not included in the "Trainingsbelastung".

    I have two ideas:

    - As the external heartrate sensor failed during the activity, the average heartrate is shown much to low, was about 140 in reality.

    - Physio true up on the Vivoactive was'nt active during the activity. I switched it to "on" now and will see what appens next time.

  • OK, tested today:

Tour with clean data, complete heart frequency (average 139) and physio true up activated on the Vivoactive 3. In parallel recorded ith the Epix 2.

After synchronizing the Vivoactive with connect, the tour was transfered, shown as tour. Activity minutes where shown in the statistics, but - as before, not the training load. Seems like the Vivoactive just doesn't provide the necessary data.

So i deleted this tour from connect and synced the Epix - everything was there.

It looks like that - if i want to have complete data in connect AND a readable display outdoors - i have to start the tour on both watches (Epix for recording and Vivoactive for having a display), deleting the tour on the Vivoactve when done and just syncing the Epix. Comfort is something different Rolling eyes

That's not surprising, Vivoactive 3 does not support the feature of Training Load:
