heat acclimation not reported when device isn't primary training device

I have a venu x1 and edge 1040.  the X1 is set to be both primary wearable and primary training device

if I record an outdoor activity on the X1 the heat acclimation is updated.  when on the 1040 it is not

if I set the 1040 to primary training then this updates as expected, but causes other side effects

    Hello

    Heat & Altitude Acclimation are part of Physio TrueUp, those metrics should carry over and match between both devices. What is Physio TrueUp?

    It will be important to sync the Edge 1040 with Garmin Connect before starting the activity. 

    What we would recommend trying: After syncing your Venu X1, before using the Edge 1040, you should:

    1. Power on the Edge 1040
    2. Open Garmin Connect and sync the Edge
    3. Then sync the Venu X1
    4. Then sync the Edge one more time

    This helps make sure data is passed:

    • from device > Connect
    • then Connect > other device

    After that, start recording the cycling activity on the Edge.

    Each device needs a little time to process the other device’s data, send it to Connect, and then receive updated data back. Doing that sync cycle before and after activities helps keep everything aligned so acclimation and other Physio TrueUp/Unified Training status metrics match properly.

    thanks for the response, I'll try this sequence when I ride tomorrow - though it would be annoying if this set of steps is needed every ride

    even without manual syncing prior to rides, I notice that other true up metrics are aligned after a ride, for example intensity minutes / acute load

    the only thing I would potentially expect to be needed to sync prior is the current weather to the edge device, the extra steps to the venu should be irrelevant

    Yes, that the crucial point, the rest mostly happens automatically, but if the double syncing after the activity fails for some reason (perhaps turning Edge off, or going away with the phone, before the syncing completed), then repeating the syncing manually is necessary.
