Feature Request: Garmin Connect App for Wear OS (Standalone LTE Support)

Hi everyone,

I am a regular cyclist using the Garmin Edge 1050. Recently, my riding habits have changed; I prefer to leave my smartphone at home to ride light and instead wear my Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra (LTE model) for connectivity and emergencies.

However, I am facing a significant inconvenience. Since the Garmin Connect app is currently only available for Android/iOS smartphones, I cannot sync my Edge 1050 data or manage connectivity features until I return home to my phone.

With the growing popularity of high-performance Wear OS devices with LTE capabilities, I believe there is a strong need for a standalone Garmin Connect app for Wear OS.

If we had a Wear OS version of the app, users like me could:

  • Sync ride data from the Edge device directly to the cloud via the watch's LTE connection.

  • Receive phone-free notifications and utilize LiveTrack through the watch's data plan.

  • Bridge the gap between Garmin's cycling ecosystem and the convenience of modern smartwatches.

I hope the development team considers expanding the Garmin Connect ecosystem to Wear OS to support those of us who want a truly "phone-free" cycling experience.

Is anyone else in the community looking for this feature?
