Peloton integration not reflecting on challenges.

In the past, third party apps were not able to report directly to Garmin however, with new updates that is now possible. Unfortunately the integration is not complete so far as challenges go. Any activities which have been done within Peloton platforms are not reflecting in Garmin challenges.

As you can see in the images above, the meditation activity profile is tracking the total time of that activity including the Peloton imported ones but the challenge is not recognizing it. This is not particular to the meditation activity profile as I had this issue last month with cycling activities as well. Is this on purpose and if so can we change it?

  • Challenges are only for activities done with Garmin devices (or with Garmin's Tacx app). That's intentional.

  • Got it. So let me see if I got this right, the Garmin customers who already paid for a wearable, are paying for the membership to Connect+ on top of the Peloton membership don't get to have their activities counted towards any badges. What does Garmin gain from having that policy as opposed to fully integrating with other apps like Peloton or Concept2? How does this help Garmin drive sales or retain customer in their subscription services? As it stands, it just looks like a half baked idea with little concern or respect for the customer, maybe pure laziness from Garmin's part.

  • If you really want badges for activities recorded externally, consider recording them on your Garmin device. Not only you will then get the badges, but you also assure to get the most accurate health and fitness data, and performance metrics.

As for the meditation - if your Garmin watch does not support meditation, use Yoga, Breathwork, or any similar activity your watch supports (even Cardio is OK), and once saved and synced, change the type of the activity to Meditation in Garmin Connect.

    1. It's not about the badges. It could care less about them. It's about consideration for your customers to deliver a product and a service that actually holds up to the value expected from a premium brand with a premium cost like Garmin. I could also get the most accurate health and fitness data if Garmin figured out platform integration. Your TacX hardware/software doesn't provide Rally RS200 information when being used in conjunction, such as riding position, power phases, balance, platform offset. I say this to restate my point, Garmin is doing a poor job at respecting their customers by not bothering to make their products and service match the premium prices charged for equipment and services.
    2. It's clear to me this thread isn't about actually addressing the issue and is instead about shifting blame or responsibility to the customer. Thank you for your responses, they have been illuminating.
